Word to the Bride, by Liz Epps
The Lord reminded me this morning about a question that He asked me years ago while on my way to church one morning. He said, “What’s the one thing that is fought so hard throughout the week?” And I thought for a minute and responded, “Well, praise.” He asked me why. I told him I guess with all the busyness and other tasks it’s not on top of our priority list. Then he showed me that this is the one thing that is so vital and powerful in our lives and sadly, so few engage in it.
There are many amazing promises in the Bible that speak about praise. I’m sure we all know a few. But I believe that the Lord wants to take us into a deeper understanding and revelation on praise. I believe He wants to take what you already know and add to it.
Praise is how we say thank you to God for all He has done and is going to do. Praise is how we express our adoration to Him. Doesn’t it bless you when somebody praises and honors you? So how much more our Heavenly Father? It’s not a work or about getting anything but it’s an intimate conversation of intimacy and out of that we end up getting something...all of Him! The enemies attack is to make you think that when you praise God nothing is happening or that it’s a waste of time or that there are other things that are more important that you could be doing. But just one moment in His presence praising him surpasses 10 years of our own efforts.
1 Samuel 19:9 says, “Then a harmful spirit from the LORD came upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing the lyre (A musical instrument ) And Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he eluded Saul.” This word eluded means set free, slip away, let out, dismiss, remove oneself, escape!
Does this look familiar? Do you ever feel that the enemy is constantly attacking you or that you may have many things coming against you? Well, I believe that the Lord is showing us something here. He saying that in the midst of what is going on in your life, declare that you will praise God! Then watch every enemy be scattered!
Be bold about it, be intentional about it, and schedule a Praise appointment on your calendar!
Psalm 96:1 says, “Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth
Sing something new to the Lord, Think of ways to go out of your way to praise him.” I believe all of heaven is waiting at the response of our praise! What if we as the body of Christ got so filled with praise throughout the week that by the time we met together on Sundays there was an explosion! This is what time it is so cast off all your worries and anxieties and thrust yourself into His presence with praise and thanksgiving.
I believe the Lord is releasing a grace for praise. I believe as you take that first step of faith and just begin praising him right where you’re at that it’s going to well up and spark a wildfire of praise in your life that you have never experienced before! So what are you waiting on? Turn up the praise in your life today at this very moment and receive all that Heaven has for you.
